IT Engineer – Job Description (Jusda Mexico Operations)
Overview
The IT Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the technological
infrastructure across multiple Jusda logistics plants in Mexico. This position ensures the
stability, security, and efficiency of the network and server systems that support daily
operations, ERP systems (eVMI, SAP, OA), and communication between local and HQ IT
teams.
The IT Engineer collaborates closely with local plant engineers, HQ IT, and operations
leaders to deliver reliable connectivity, efficient system performance, and compliant asset
management across all sites (Plant 1–3 Juárez, Plant 4 Guadalajara, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
Network and Infrastructure Management
 Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, VLANs, and fiber connections
across plants.
 Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls (e.g., FG-80F), switches, access points,
and VPN tunnels between sites.
 Manage and monitor internet failover and backup links (e.g., Starlink, local ISPs).
 Support IDF/MDF server rooms, including power (UPS), grounding, and structured
cabling.
Server and System Administration
 Manage Windows Server, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.
 Support and maintain eVMI servers, database connections, and data replication
processes.
 Oversee virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and storage management (SAS,
SATA, RAID).
 Conduct system backups, restoration tests, and apply OS or firmware updates.
Security and Compliance
 Enforce IT policies aligned with HQ IT standards, including firewall rules, endpoint
protection, and user access control.
 Conduct periodic network and system audits, ensuring compliance with corporate and
security standards.
 Support CCTV and biometric systems for access control and monitoring.
IT Asset Management
 Coordinate procurement, installation, and tracking of IT assets (laptops, PDAs, printers,
network devices).

 Manage inventory in coordination with customs and finance teams, including SRM/OA
approvals and pedimento tracking.
 Support IT budget planning, vendor evaluations, and quotation processes.
System Integration and Support
 Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for ERP, EDI, and warehouse systems (WMS, SAP,
OA).
 Coordinate with global IT teams for system migrations, data center projects, and
production system cutovers.
 Participate in site rollout projects for new plants or infrastructure expansions.
Documentation and Communication
 Maintain updated network diagrams, server configurations, and change logs.
 Prepare formal IT reports, project updates, and incident summaries for management
and HQ IT.
 Serve as a liaison between operations, HQ IT, and vendors to ensure alignment and
timely issue resolution.
Required Skills
 Strong knowledge of network administration (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
 Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or HP networking devices.
 Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 environments.
 Familiarity with VMware, storage systems, and backup management.
 Basic database and ERP (SAP/eVMI) connectivity knowledge.
 Experience with CCTV, access control, and plant-floor device connectivity.
 Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills (Spanish/English).
Preferred Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, or
related field.
 Relevant certifications: Fortinet NSE 4+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ / Security+, or
Microsoft Azure Administrator.
 3+ years of experience in industrial IT environments or multi-site network support.
